August Wrap-Up: What a Whirlwind!

What a month!  August was full of trips up-north, a girls weekend to Napa, and a few trips to the Minnesota State Fair.  Oh, plus I started a new job!  I read seven books and DNF’d two;  this feels low, but I don’t know when I would have found time to read more.  I’m sure there will be plenty of time for books when the snow starts to fly in a few weeks!

I had been planning on a book-buying hiatus in September but decided to wait until October.  I’ve been in a bit of a reading slump with so many things going on in August and I don’t want to accidentally discourage myself from reading if something catches my eye!  Plus Amazon says I only spent $15 on books in August – not bad in my book and my Kindle is running out of interesting sounding reads!

On the Blog:

I had all these great goals for August that flew out the window!  I’m starting to lose momentum for my monthly goals now that I’m posting on a more regular basis (WAHOO!), but there are a few housekeeping things I definitely need to hold myself too:

  • Finalize some cornerstone content, including a review guide and the rest of my “About Me” stuff.  This is still leftover from June and July and August…. I’m going to get this done in September. Promise?
  • Get my graphics together!  Canva and I were besties when I started She is Bookish, but some of my regular images could really use a little TLC.

September TBR List

I only read seven books in August and just one of them was on my monthly TBR list (and truth be told, I actually read September, 1!)

Oh goodness!! My reading month has been terrible – I think I’ve maybe read two books and am starting to feel like a fraud of a book-blogger. I’ll just have to “read vicariously” though my book blogging friends!
